Michael Igoe and Will Atkins guided their Citroën C3 Rally 2 to claim overall victory at this year’s Cadwell Park Stage Rally with a time of 41m39s.

Across eight challenging stages that saw competitors take on the famous turns of the ‘Mini-Nürburgring’ as well as sections run in reverse and off-road areas, the pairing of Igoe and Watkins masterfully navigated their way to a narrow victory, with wins in stages one and four just being enough to claim overall honours.

The impressive duo of John Griffiths and Emma Morrison claimed a fantastic six stage victories, and despite this usually being the kind of performance that would guarantee victory for the Skoda Fabia R5, the relentless consistency of the rival Citroen crew was good enough to see them come home just four seconds ahead of Griffiths and Morrison.

In third was the Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 of John Stone and Rhys Stoneman, a further minute and a half behind the leading duo, followed by the Darrian T90 of Josua Davey and Tamsyn Davey, another minute behind. Rounding out the top five was the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X of Alfie Threlfall and Patrick Cross.

British Superbike star Storm Stacey made the most of his switch from two wheels to four, showcasing his raw speed by securing class victory in his Ford Fiesta R2 and also winning his friendly wager by beating BSB pitlane reporter Larry Carter.
