Kyle Ryde edged out his OMG GRILLA team-mate Ryan Vickers to top the Bennetts British Superbike Championship warm-up timesheets by 0.077s in the final moments.

Ryde had taken charge early  but dropped down the order, before launching himself back to the top with a 1min:26.372s on his 10th lap at the end of the 15-minute session.

MasterMac Honda’s Lee Jackson – fresh from his P2 in yesterday’s race – ended the session third, just ahead of the leading BMW of ROKiT Haslam Racing’s Leon Haslam.

Points leader Tommy Bridewell was fifth, the Honda Racing UK rider finishing 0.430s adrift of leader Ryde, as Jackson’s team-mate Charlie Nesbitt was sixth quickest.

Danny Kent clocked the seventh best lap aboard his McAMS Racing Yamaha, just ahead of Hager PBM Ducati’s Glenn Irwin, while local favourite Peter Hickman banked the ninth best time on the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad machine, with DAO Racing Kawasaki’s Danny Buchan rounding out the top 10.

Andrew Irwin (Honda Racing UK) was declared unfit this morning after further medical assessment by the BSB Medical Team, and has withdrawn from the remainder of the event.
