Cadwell Park set for Bennetts BSB's Monster Energy Party in the Park

21 August 2024

Tens of thousands of motorcycle racing fans will descend on Cadwell Park near Louth for the Bennetts British Superbike Championship’s annual visit to Lincolnshire this August Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday 24 – Monday 25 August). Many will stay for the whole weekend as the Wolds venue is transformed into a bike racing festival for the Monster Energy Party in the Park.

The circuit’s signature event will play host to a fierce Bennetts BSB title battle, currently led by Tommy Bridewell riding for the locally based Honda Racing UK team. It’s been a season of pace and consistency for the reigning champion in his first season with the squad and he’ll be hoping to deliver more results for the popular team on ‘home turf’.

Others in the hunt for the main prize will include Kyle Ryde (OMG GRILLA Yamaha Racing) and Christian Iddon (Oxford Products Racing Ducati). Glenn Irwin, who won twice at this event last year, will be aiming to remain in the hunt with Hager PBM Ducati too, whilst Ryde’s teammate Ryan Vickers arrives at the undulating circuit on a hot streak of form following five wins from six races.

Local hero Peter Hickman will be in action too, alongside popular FHO Racing BMW Motorrad teammate Josh Brookes, whilst other favourites joining the fun will include Jason O’Halloran and Leon Haslam.

This weekend’s event carries additional significance as, not only is it a key championship round with just four events remaining, but it will also crown the Pirelli King of the Mountain. The circuit’s signature motorcycle racing title will be awarded to the best performing Bennetts BSB rider across the first two races.

Cadwell Park also celebrates its 90th anniversary this year, and this weekend’s Bennetts BSB action will culminate in Monday afternoon’s Monster Energy Cadwell 90 feature race, in which the winning rider will claim the Monster Energy Cadwell 90 trophy.

The first headline contest of the weekend will take place on Sunday following Omologato Superpole, with Monday hosting a thrilling double-header. The weekend gets underway in earnest with Free Practice on Saturday and there will be a full support race programme to ensure bike lovers have plenty to enjoy out on the track

In addition to the main on-circuit entertainment, live music will continue into the evening on both the Saturday and Sunday night, adding to the summer festival mood. And giant TV screens will be available opposite some of the most popular viewing spots so spectators don’t miss a thing. Camping is already sold out for the event so anybody else looking to stay will need to find an alternative in the local area.

Mountain Pavilion makes its Bennetts BSB debut
Cadwell Park enjoyed a major upgrade earlier this year with the installation of an all-new Mountain Pavilion hospitality lodge, offering an enhanced spectator experience overlooking one of the circuit’s most iconic spots. This is completely sold out for Monday and a significant number of guests are expected across the rest of the weekend too.

General admission for this popular event remain available online and will be sold at discounted advance prices until 4pm on Thursday 22 August. After that, they’ll be available at full price on the gate. Reductions are available for 13-15-year-olds and under-13s go FREE. For more information, click here.
