The annual ‘Party in the Park’ is the circuit’s showpiece event, with three headline Bennetts BSB races across the Sunday and Monday racedays, plus a packed support race card featuring the Quattro Group British Supersport/British GP2, Pirelli National Superstock, Pirelli National Sportbike and ABK Beer 0% BMW F900 R Cup.
If an example was ever needed of how ferocious this year’s Bennetts BSB title fight is, look no further than the conclusion of the first Thruxton race. Seven riders battled for the victory, with the lead changing hands at almost every corner! In the end, OMG GRILLA Yamaha’s Kyle Ryde won the contest, though teammate Ryan Vickers was very much the man to beat on Sunday as he powered to his sixth and seventh wins of the year.
Honda’s Tommy Bridewell continues to lead the standings, as he aims for a second title in a row, with Ryde and Oxford Products Racing Ducati’s Christian Iddon within touching distance. Hager PBM Ducati’s perennial title contender Glenn Irwin is also in the mix, with Vickers’ double firing him further up the order.
