The Bennetts British Superbike Championship rockets back to Cadwell Park with the title fight wide open ahead of the three final pre-Showdown races of the 2023 campaign. The Lincolnshire circuit’s summer highlight returns on August Bank Holiday (Saturday 26-Monday 28 August) for a Bennetts BSB festival in front of a huge crowd! There’s still time to book discounted advance tickets – click here to book now.
Tommy Bridewell leads the pack ahead of the series’ annual ‘Party in the Park’ with BeerMonster Ducati Glenn Irwin in hot pursuit. The Italian bikes have been the class of the field for much of the year, with Bridewell winning six races to date including a stunning treble at Snetterton, whilst Irwin has won four times.
Australian hero Jason O’Halloran has reignited his title hopes too after winning all three races last weekend at Thruxton. The McAMS Yamaha ace had only won a single race at Donington Park prior to his triple-win, but he now sits just over 50 points behind Bridwell with a huge tally available both at Cadwell Park and in the remaining Showdown rounds.
Others to look out for at the end of the month will include Kyle Ryde and Ryan Vickers, who’ve both won for the LAMI OMG Racing Yamaha team this year. Leon Haslam will be another to keep an eye out for - the former champion has been on fine form throughout the season but is still chasing a first win for ROKiT BMW Motorrad team.
Other fan favourites to look out for will include the FHO Racing BMW Motorrad duo of Josh Brookes and Peter Hickman. Brookes has fallen a little further down the order following a bright start to his title challenge, but he’s famous for his impressive leaps over the iconic Mountain, whilst Hickman has always thrived within the old-school setting of Cadwell Park.
The Bennetts BSB action will kick off with Free Practice Sessions ahead of eBay Qualifying and the final Omologato Superpole session of the year on the Sunday afternoon. This will be followed by the BikeSocial Sprint Race before a double-header of Bennetts BSB feature races tops the bill on the bank holiday Monday.
